Patenga is a sea beach located 14 kilometers south of the oasis city of Chittagong , Bangladesh . It is near the mouth of the river Karnaphuli . Many visitors to Bangladesh Chittagong discovers he is the ideal holiday destination . It is full of green forests , solid rolling hills , a moderate climate and beautiful beaches . Patenga is a very popular tourist spot . The beach is very close to Bangladesh Naval Academy of Bangladesh Navy, and Shah Amanat International Airport . It lies at the mouth of the river Karnaphuli and extending to the Bay of Bengal . The beach width is narrow and swimming in the sea is not optional. A part of the coast is built - with real walls. Most visitors come to Patenga Beach as it is known for having some of the most spectacular sunsets and sunrises in Bangladesh .
