Tourism of Jatiyo Smriti Soudho, Savar

National Martyrs Memorial ( Jatiyo Smriti Soudho ) in Savar , built about 35 kilometers northwest of Dhaka , in memory of the martyrs who lost their lives in the Liberation War of Bangladesh sacrificed in 1971 , Bangladesh 's independence from Pakistan led rule. Monument tower designed by architect Syed Mainul Hussain each of different size including height and the core seven isosceles triangular faces . The faces folded in the middle and placed one after another. The highest point of the structure reaches 150 feet . Several mass graves and a pool of water bodies are placed in front of the monument .





Memorial complex covers an area of ​​34 hectares (84 acres ) around a green area of 10 hectares ( 24.7 acres ) . Concrete is used for the monument tower while red bricks used for other structures and pavements . Water pool and a platform for laying wreath while standing in front of the monument the pits are common on both sides. From the front door you can axially to see the monument , but to get there you have to go through various levels of red sidewalks and crossing a lake - this is the struggle for independence .





After evaluating the 57 submissions , Syed Mainul Hossain design was chosen . The main structure and the artificial lake and other facilities were completed in 1982. The whole complex is spread over an area of 34 hectares , which again enveloping a green area of ​​10 hectares . The project was constructed in three phases . The first was released in 1972. During the second phase , 1974 - 1982 , Tk 3.77 tens of millions for the construction of the mass graves , helipad , parking lots , sidewalks , etc. In the third phase , in 1982 , the main structure was built at a cost of Tk 848.65 more lacquers .
